This e-book is prepared by Patrick Goggin--Phelps resident, UW Graduate, previous Vilas County Land and Water Conservation Department County Conservationist, and Extension Lakes Outreach Coordinator and Lakes Specialist. Mr. Goggin’s local roots and connections and 35 year background with native plants and water resources provide the basis for this guide to native planting as it relates to maintaining and improving lake and river quality. Along with individual plant descriptions and information, this e-book includes appendices with information on native plant clubs and groups, on-line plant courses and related subjects.

90 local chapters in 27 states provide educational resources as well as learning opportunities open to the public.
